Intervention

Learn when an intervention is necessary and how to stage one.

Intervention is not a single event, but rather a process.

Sometimes someone suffering from addiction will find their own way out of it. Sometimes they will elect to enter a treatment center; they will make arrangements themselves or ask a friend or family member to help. But many people suffering from addiction are not willing to acknowledge that they have a problem that is hurting themselves and everyone around them. They might think they “can handle it,” or they might be at a point where they no longer care whether their addiction kills them or hurts others.

You might hear the term “intervention” and picture a specific, perhaps confrontational, meeting during which the family tries to convince—or bully—their loved one into getting help. DK Solutions understands that intervention is not a single event but a process. It can include pre-intervention consultation, recovery support for families, recovery mentoring for the person in recovery, treatment placement, and more.

As an interventionist and consultant, I will work with your family to assess the situation, gather information about your loved one’s addiction, answer your questions about addiction and treatment, and help you communicate with each other and with your loved one with honesty, respect, and compassion.

My relationship with my clients can last anywhere from one hour to two months, during which time I will help you find treatment centers for your loved one as well as resources for helping the family work through the pain and anger addiction causes.
